Tooth crown

A damaged tooth with large fillings and little tooth substance can easily fracture. To prolong the lifetime of the tooth a crown can be constructed on the tooth. The crown is a restoration with the purpose of restoring the damaged tooth where filling is no longer an option. The crown will look and function as the original tooth.

A crown can also be done for aesthetic reasons. The most common crown materials are a combination of porcelain and metal or ceramics.
